   Concrete block paving (cbp), if properly designed and constructed, will last for decades with little or no maintenance. However, as with all types of pavements and structures, there are certain requirements regarding the design and construction which are important to the success of cbp. The structural design of pavements is concerned with traffic, layerwork (foundations), material, subgrade soils, environmental conditions, construction details and economics.
